I totally get that these eye shadows are in this packaging for a reason! They really do keep them stable and having each eye shadow unprotected makes them more prone to breaking. I found it was mostly the matte shades that broke, perhaps because of the soft powdery formula which makes the shadows so easy to blend. Where as the more neutral shades I have used a lot were the ones that broke more. Since I haven’t used the palette featured in the video much I didn’t get as much breakage. I found the shadows that broke were the ones I had used most. My advice would be to depot them soon after you have purchased the shadows or straight away even. I love depotting my MAC eyeshadows for two main reasons: I can fill up my eyeshadow pan, decluttering my makeup storage AND I can get that free lipstick sooner I found that this is by far the easiest way to depot the pans without stabbing myself in the fingers. The challenge - doing it without making the shadows break! Here is what you need to know to avoid them breaking! Now I have all of my eye shadows in three easy palettes - one for metallics, one for mattes and one with blues, greens and purple shades. So I decided to depot them all! (remove the eye shadow from its existing packaging) The downside for me was the packaging! I already had three M.A.C x 15 palettes and adding four extra Morphe palettes got too bulky! I love the variety of warm and cool shades and have been loving using them on different clients! Take care at this point because theres every possibility that the eyeshadow pan will fly out and land somewhere it shouldnt. Theres a tiny gap between these two, where you have to force your spatula in and flick it upwards. I recently purchased the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eye Shadow Palettes for my makeup kit - the formula’s are so smooth and pigmented and the metallic shades glide onto the eye with ease. Step 1- Separate the (eyeshadow pan insert + plastic container its glued in) from the main body of eyeshadow packaging.Use your spatula for this. I’m sure like most makeup artists I am forever trying to downsize my kit to avoid lugging my makeup kit plus an additional three bags per shoulder!
